Gu-choki Passport

Have you seen the "Gu-choki Passport" stickers before? Actually there are so many shops that have them on their walls. Now, how many of you have the pass but don't know how to use it?

For this month of "Did you know?", we would like to introduce the Gu-choki Passport.
The Gu-choki passport is one of the joint projects of the local communities, companies and governments working together to support child-rearing in Gunma. "Gu-choki" is an abbreviation of "Gunma-Choi(little)-Toku (reasonable)-Kids'-Passport" and pass acts as a coupon for kids and their families in Gunma. This pass, started on November 18th, 2007, is delivered to the families who are raising children in Gunma. When a person (often a parent of the child) shows this pass at partnered stores, he or she will receive discounts or small gifts.
Gunma partnered with 5 other prefectures (Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Saitama and Niigata), and as a result families with children under 18 in Gunma can obtain similar passports from other prefectures at the Kencho (Prefectural Building) or at a local city or town hall. Why not take advantage of this project?
